Day 1 – ARRIVAL IN JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA
Upon arrival at O.R Tambo International Airport you will be met by a Coda Tours guide who will assist with luggage and to the transfer vehicle. Transfer to your hotel.

South Africa is famous for its sunshine. A subtropical location, moderated by ocean on three sides of the country and the altitude of the interior plateau, account for the warm temperate conditions so typical of South Africa - and so popular with its foreign visitors. It's a relatively dry country, with an average annual rainfall of about 18 inches. While the Western Cape gets most of its rainfall in winter, the rest of the country is generally a summer-rainfall region. South Africa is a nation of diversity, with over 47-million people and a variety of cultures, languages and religious beliefs. South Africa has 11 official languages, and plenty of unofficial ones besides. English is the most commonly spoken language in official and commercial public life - but only the fifth most spoken home language.

Sanctuary Chief's Camp is located on Chief's Island, one of the many islands created by the seasonal floodwaters of the Okavango. The vast numbers of animals who congregate here make it easy to understand why the area was put aside for the chief. The guest pavilions are hidden away in a jackalberry and sausage tree woodland that is characteristic of the area. All have their own private decks and indoor and outdoor showers. Generously draped mosquito nets and traditional ceiling fans also feature. There is a communal decked living room with stunning views over the floodplains, while the dining area surrounds a fire pit on the very edge of the Piajio plains so that guests can continue their game viewing while enjoying fine cuisine and wines.

Lunch will be enjoyed at the camp. This afternoon guests depart on their first game activity.  Dinner will be enjoyed at the camp

safariGame Drives - The expert guides always on hand to share a wealth of wildlife knowledge, take guests deep into the bush in specially modified open 4 x 4 vehicles on morning and afternoon game drives to find the secluded places where elephant families congregate in search of the tastiest fruits and berries. The game viewing opportunities at Sanctuary Chief's Camp are awe-inspiring. On the plains one may find the roaming lions that prey on the thousands of antelope, zebra and buffalo who live here all year round. Guests may see spot wild dogs. Sanctuary Chief's is the ideal place to spot the big 5 - perhaps even the rare rhino. There are several local lion prides as well as leopards, genet cats and hyenas are in abundance.

boatMokoro Trips - Mokoros, local dugout canoes, are ideal for getting close to the bush in the company of a highly trained local guide. Each June the whole area around the camp floods and turns the Okavango Delta into a labyrinth of lily-filled lagoons and streams where hippos fight for bathing rights and crocodiles wait for unwary antelope to linger too long over a drink. This activity is subject to water levels.

Game Drives - Elephants feature largely on any activity at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero, as the largest population left in Africa occupies this northern corner between Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Game drives in open-sided 4 x 4 vehicles bring these grey giants into easy reach as they drink and frolic at the water’s edge in their boisterous herds. Thrilling game drives lead by qualified professional guides bring guests close to hippos, buffalos, puku, antelope, lions and other creatures that gather on the banks of the Chobe River.

Sundowner Cruise - The best way to end a day of safari is sipping on a cocktail while watching an African sunset over the still waters of the Chobe River, toasting to the end of yet another beautiful day, while looking forward to what the new day will bring… Specially designed riverboats take guests up close to elephants as they wade in the river or near to the buffalo who gather on its shores. Sundowner cruises are also a great way of seeing animals up close as they come out of the shade to graze in the cooler evenings. Chobe is renowned for its abundance of elephants and dramatic sable and roan antelopes with their impressive horns.

Day 6 CHOBE to Livingstone, Zambia
This morning enjoy an early game activity followed by breakfast. After breakfast you will be met and transferred from Chobe Chilwero across the border to Livingstone. Transfer from the lodge by road to the border. Clear customs and immigrations and continue on a ferry across the border to Zambia. On the other side, a vehicle awaits to continue the journey to the hotel.

The Victoria Falls constitutes one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. The Local people call it "Mosi-oa-Tunya" -- the smoke that thunders and the Falls are remarkable. There is a magic about them manifested in the towering column of spray when the river is high, the thunder of the falling water, the terrifying abyss and tranquil lagoons upstream in which hippo and deadly crocodiles lurk. The Victoria Falls is 5600 feet wide, making it the largest curtain of water in the world.  It drops between 295 feet and 351 feet into the Zambezi Gorge and an average of 726,000 cubic yards of water plummet over the edge every minute. Remarkably preserved in its natural state, Victoria Falls inspires visitors as much today as it did David Livingstone in the 1860's. The falls and the surrounding area have been declared a National Park and a World Heritage Site, thus preserving the area from excessive commercialization.

Check in at the hotel upon arrival. Later in the afternoon transfer to the mighty Zambezi River where you will go on a relaxing sunset cruise on the river. The Zambezi River cruise is a superb way to relax and enjoy the beauty of the River. You may have the opportunity to see a variety of game; including hippo, crocodile, elephant and sometimes even rhino in their home environment, as well as enjoy the many different bird species. The cruise includes finger snacks, beer, wine and soft drinks. There are great photo opportunities against often-spectacular African sunsets
Afterwards return to the hotel and will have the evening at leisure.
