Sanctuary Chief's Camp is located on Chief's Island, one of the many islands created by the seasonal floodwaters of the Okavango. The vast numbers of animals that congregate here make it easy to understand why the area was put aside for the chief. The guest pavilions are hidden away in a jackalberry and sausage tree woodland that is characteristic of the area. All have their own private deck and indoor and outdoor showers. Generously draped mosquito nets and traditional ceiling fans are also featured. There is a communal decked living room with stunning views over the floodplains, while the dining area surrounds a fire pit on the very edge of the Piajio plains so that guests can continue their game viewing while enjoying fine cuisine and wines.

Lunch will be enjoyed at the camp. This afternoon you depart on your first game drive.  Dinner will be enjoyed at the camp.

Day 3 – Moremi
Enjoy meals in and around the camp.  Speciality game activities offered at the camp include:

safariGame Drives -Expert guides are always on hand to share a wealth of wildlife knowledge and to take you deep into the bush in specially modified open 4 x 4 vehicles on morning and afternoon game drives to find the secluded places where elephant families congregate in search of the tastiest fruits and berries. The game viewing opportunities at Sanctuary Chief's Camp are awe-inspiring. On the plains one may find the roaming lions that prey on the thousands of antelope, zebra and buffalo who live here all year round. Sanctuary Chief's is the ideal place to spot the big 5 - perhaps even the rare rhino. There are several local lion prides as well as leopards, genet cats and hyenas are in abundance.

boatMokoro Trips - Mokoros, local dugout canoes, are ideal for getting close to the bush in the company of a highly trained local guide. Each June the whole area around the camp floods and turns the Okavango Delta into a labyrinth of lily-filled lagoons and streams where hippos fight for bathing rights and crocodiles wait for unwary antelope to linger too long over a drink. This activity is subject to water levels.

These cans were then incorporated into the camp buildings, forming the backbone of the structures. The five suites at Sanctuary Baines' are opulent and luxurious, with ensuite facilities and four-poster beds swathed in mosquito netting. Traditional safari ceiling fans create a cooling breeze at even the hottest times of the year.

Day 5 – Okavango Delta to Livingstone
This morning, enjoy an early game activity followed by breakfast. Breakfast will be enjoyed at the lodge. After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Kasane Airport.

Upon arrival at Kasane Airport, you will be met by a representative who will transfer by road to the border. Guests will clear customs and immigrations, and continue on a ferry across the border to Zambia. On the other side, a vehicle awaits to continue the journey to the hotel.

The Victoria Falls constitutes one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. The Local people call it "Mosi-oa-Tunya" -- the smoke that thunders and the Falls are remarkable. There is a magic about them manifested in the towering column of spray when the river is high, the thunder of the falling water, the terrifying abyss and tranquil lagoons upstream in which hippo and deadly crocodiles lurk. The Victoria Falls is 5600 feet wide, making it the largest curtain of water in the world.  It drops between 295 feet and 351 feet into the Zambezi Gorge and an average of 726,000 cubic yards of water plummet over the edge every minute. Remarkably preserved in its natural state, Victoria Falls inspires visitors as much today as it did David Livingstone in the 1860's. The falls and the surrounding area have been declared a National Park and a World Heritage Site, thus preserving the area from excessive commercialization.

Check in at the hotel upon arrival. Later in the afternoon transfer to the mighty Zambezi River where you will go on a relaxing sunset cruise on the river. The Zambezi River cruise is a superb way to relax and enjoy the beauty of the River. You may have the opportunity to see a variety of game; including hippo, crocodile, elephant and sometimes even rhino in their home environment, as well as enjoy the many different bird species. The cruise includes finger snacks, beer, wine and soft drinks. There are great photo opportunities against often-spectacular African sunsets
Afterwards return to the hotel and will have the evening at leisure.

Day 11 – Cape Town | Full Day Cape Point Tour
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning. You will be met by your guide at the hotel. Travel via the 12 Apostles and Hout Bay as well as Chapmans Peak – one of the region’s most dramatic mountain drives, offering amazing panoramic views over the city and environs.

Chapman’s Peak Drive winds it way between Noordhoek and Hout Bay. Situated on the Atlantic Coast, at the south-western tip of South Africa, it is one of the most spectacular marine drives anywhere in the world. The 5.5 mile route, with its 114 curves, skirts the rocky coastline of Chapman's Peak, the 1945 feet high southerly extension of Constantia Berg. The drive offers stunning 180° views over the ocean and mountains with Hout Bay in the distance.
Continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, established in 1939 to protect 19,000 acres of indigenous flora and fauna. The reserve comes to an end at majestic Cape Point.  Situated at the junction of two of earth's most contrasting water masses, the cold Benguela current on the West Coast and the warm Agulhas current on the East Coast, the Cape of Good Hope is popularly perceived as the meeting point of the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans. Take the funicular to the vantage point from where you will be able to witness the “meeting of the two oceans”.
Afterwards travel through the historic naval base of Simon's Town where we visit a colony of African Jackass Penguins in their natural environment at Boulders Beach.

Lunch will be enjoyed at a local seafood restaurant. On arrival back in the city, visit the National Botanical Gardens of Kirstenbosch.

These gardens are world-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape flora it displays and for the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. Kirstenbosch grows only indigenous South African plants. The estate covers 1300 acres and supports a diverse fynbos flora and natural forest. The cultivated garden (89 acres) displays collections of South African plants, particularly those from the winter rainfall region of the country.

Afterwards you will return to the hotel. This evening you may wish to visit the gay nightlife of Cape Town. Overnight at the hotel.

The island was named after Chief Moremi, the hereditary king of the area who used the lands as his royal hunting grounds. The vast number of animals who congregate here make it easy to understand why the area was put aside for the chief. It was Moremi's people, the Tawana, who turned it into a reserve where animals are protected. The guest pavilions are hidden away in a jackalberry and sausage tree woodland that is characteristic of the area. All have their own private decks and outdoor showers, as well as fully-equipped bathroom inside. Generously draped mosquito nets and traditional ceiling fans are also featured.
