A Note To Our Travelers: Mali is one of the world's poorest countries. Tourism is alive and well but does not reach the levels of more progressive countries in Africa. Accommodations reflect the destination. Mali is not a destination for someone overly concerned about creature comforts. We have reserved the best available hotels in the country but they are, for the most part, well below any standards you might willingly choose to stay at , given options. We request air-conditioned rooms, en-suite bathrooms and hotels with running hot and cold water for showering. These amenities can mostly be relied on to be functioning.
