There are many reasons to visit Argentina. You might travel there for the superb world-famous beef or in search of high quality leather goods or just simply for the infamous nightlife where being surrounded by beautiful Argentines is well worth the trip.

We have chosen to offer a trip to Argentina for all of these reasons but also for two additional, more specific reasons: The Arts and Nature of this trend-setting country.

We begin in Buenos Aires, the "Paris of the South", where architecture and fine arts are flourishing. See the new MALBA museum dedicated to the modern arts of Latin America. From Buenos Aires, we travel south to Calafate where the glacier Perito Moreno still manages to defy global warming. There is plenty of time to work off the excesses of Buenos Aires. From Calafate, we travel to Bariloche, the heart of Patagonia - resplendent with natural beauty at the entrance to the Argentine Lake District. Our hotel is the new, Casco Art Hotel, which is as much a museum as a hotel.

Day 1 – USA - BUENOS AIRES
Depart the USA on a regularly scheduled flight to Buenos Aires.

Day 2 – BUENOS AIRES
Arrive Buenos Aires and transfer to the Sofitel Buenos Aires in the Recoleta District. Rooms are guaranteed for immediate check in. Relax this afternoon and gather this evening for dinner at the trendy La Cabana Restaurant.

Day 3 – BUENOS AIRES
Breakfast at hotel. Depart on a half day city tour with a stop at the famous Café Tortoni. Our first stop is La Boca, a most colorful area. At the famous street Caminito meet painters offering their Tango pictures. Then continue to San Telmo, the best kept historical neighborhood and oldest district of Buenos Aires. Here we have time to stroll around Plaza Dorrego, where you can find many antique shops as well as an antiques market which takes place only on Sundays. We visit Avenida de Mayo that runs into the Plaza De Mayo, which is surrounded by the Casa Rosada (Government House), the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo (first City Hall, built during Spanish rule). At the other end of Avenida de Mayo you find the Congress building. Here we stop at the oldest literati Café in the city, the famous Café Tortoni. Enjoy a glass of wine or a coffee in this Cafe which has been the scene of some of the most celebrated porteño talks, while jazz sessions and literary clubs are held in its cellar. Pass by Colon Theatre, one of the world's best known opera houses and the cultural pride of the "porteños" (as the inhabitants of Buenos Aires are commonly called). Finally visit Recoleta area, one of the city’s glamoros districts. Here you will find the Municipal Cultural Center, elegant boutiques and excellent restaurants, surrounded by centennial trees. At the cemetery of Recoleta you will find the grave of Eva Duarte who became famous as Eva Perón (Evita). The cemetery is the center of this aristocratic district. The more relevant personalities of Argentina’s history rest in Recoleta: politicians, explorers, priests, leaders, writers and poets. La Recoleta is a necropolis itself. The mausoleums, pantheons, tumulus and vaults reflect the architectural diversity emerging from the different cultural tendencies Argentina incorporated in its formation as a nation. The cemetery is considered to be one of the most impressive monuments of Argentina’s past. Return to the hotel for the remainder of the day and evening at leisure.

Day 4 –- BUENOS AIRES
Buffet breakfast at hotel. Morning at leisure. In the afternoon we visit the MALBA Museum, accompanied by a specialized guide. One of the world’s great collections of Latin American Art is now available in Buenos Aires. This collection has long been in demand from major galleries such as New York’s Museum of Modern Art and the G. Pompidou in Paris. After the MALBA, we pass by Braga Menendez Art Gallery, accompanied by a member of the exposition. We will go up to the “trastienda” to observe the classifications and other pictures of the artists that the gallery represents. This evening, we will be transferred to the most exquisite Tango Show in our beloved Buenos Aires: Rojo Tango (Faena Hotel), for dinner and Tango Show. Located inside the new & sophisticated Faena Hotel, Rojo Tango recreates a French Cabaret, offering a delightful dinner with an excellent tango show. A cabaret designed by Philippe Starck, created to bring back nostalgic times, with the strength of a new show full of fantasy and sensuality. This is all combined with a gastronomic proposal, with an attitude of it`s own, accompanied by Baron B Champagne. At midnight, return to the hotel or continue to one of the clubs for which Buenos Aires is so famous.

Buffet breakfast at hotel. Full day Moreno Glacier and mini-trekking. One of the most interesting activities in the Glacier is the tour starting around 10:00 am in the Bay “ Bajo de las Sombras “, 8 km before reaching the Glacier itself. There we board a boat to cross Brazo Rico, sailing for approximately 30 minutes in front of the Glacier. Landing on the opposite coast, we walk for approximately 30 minutes to reach the Glacier. With adequate crampons, set off and walk on the ice. This walk is especially attractive because of the contact with glacial ice, which has a unique blue color. Afterwards walk through the exuberant Magellanic forest before reaching the shelter at lunch time. Enjoy a deluxe box lunch at the shelter, before taking the boat back to Bajo las Sombras. From there, we will drive inside the National Park until getting the Moreno pasarells. A must for all visitors to Argentina is a visit to the Glacier Perito Moreno in the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. It forms part of the Patagonian Continental Ice Field from which 13 glaciers descend on the Atlantic side to flow into the Viedma and Argentino lakes. The Perito Moreno glacier, 5 km wide and 80 mts. high above Argentino Lake, is one of the few in the world which still advances, forming a wall and containing the Brazo Rico waters.
